Our Story
Founded in 2023, Apex Ridge Logistics is the realization of a dream shared by my wife, Lizzy, and me. With over eight years of experience in the national and international logistics industry, I founded this company to combine my brokerage expertise with my lifelong passion for the outdoors and operating heavy equipment.
My background includes managing a top-ranked 3PL sales team and overseeing approximately 140 daily shipments globally. I have taken those high-level logistics skills and integrated them into the world of Construction and Land Development. However, the true heartbeat of Apex Ridge is service. Deeply influenced by the customer-first culture I honed during my time at Chick-fil-A, Lizzy and I founded this company to change the game in Bulk Material delivery and Construction Logistics. Today, we support state, private, and commercial development projects by bringing technology, innovative solutions, and unwavering customer service to the industry.

About the Owner – JOhn Perry
My journey in the great outdoors began at the young age of 10. What started as a local lawn care company servicing eight neighbors quickly bloomed into a dream: to build a career working outside while providing the kind of service and respect I was privileged to learn from my parents.
As I grew, so did my passion. During middle and high school, I had the opportunity to work at a local commercial farm in the heart of South Carolina. There, operating excavators and dozers and learning from one of the state’s largest farming players, I fell in love with heavy equipment and earthwork. I saw firsthand the operational efficiencies required to succeed and how impactful this work was to the surrounding regions.
Transitioning to what I thought was just a “college job,” I joined one of the top 20 Chick-fil-A stores in the country in Charleston, SC. I spent five years there, falling in love with the values of high-level customer service and Christian foundations—principles I had known since childhood. During this time, I learned how to integrate fast-paced business demands with a service model that is truly second to none. It was also during this time that I was blessed to meet the love of my life, Elizabeth Perry. Little did I know then that she would be the partner who would help change my life and the lives of others.
After my time in hospitality, an opportunity arose to step into the world of transportation logistics, and that is where everything shifted. Working with one of the top two logistics companies in the world, I moved quickly from Account Rep to Senior Key Account Manager. I led a team of over 12 people, managing annual revenues of $60MM+ with margins of 11%-13%.
After nearly seven years of growth in the corporate world, and with the encouragement and support of Lizzy, we took a leap of faith. We combined the best elements of our experience to create Apex Ridge Logistics: a customer-service-focused, technology-forward bulk material and transportation brokerage serving South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, and the Southeast.
